AACA was founded in 1999 and formally incorporated in May 2000. The nonprofit organization fosters community dialogue, knowledge, planning, welfare and pride. Activities include offering a forum for residents' views, informing them on points of interest and undertaking projects to enhance the community and its environment.

The future of Rappahannock County's unique cultural and natural resources depends largely on the effectiveness of its vibrant nonprofit and volunteer community. Rappahannock Nonprofit Center's mission is to help nonprofit organizations in Rappahannock County improve their management practices and successfully attract the human, financial and other resources necessary to carry out their missions.

Washington Hospitality and Visitors Association (WHVA)
WHVA works to preserve and promote the unique cultural and historic heritage, retail and dining offerings and local hospitality of the town of Washington, while creating a vibrant town atmosphere. The group also organizes an annual Christmas parade each December.

Woodville Community Organization
The group was established in 1998 to facilitate the Woodville Bicentennial Celebration. The informal organization exists today to foster and enhance the sense of community in Woodville through general maintenance of the town signs and road sides, and a free annual picnic each September. The organization is open to all friends and residents of Woodville.
