Child Nutrition Inc. (CNI)
The mission of CNI is to facilitate an environment for healthful and happy childcare in a family setting, to deliver benefits promptly and efficiently and to ensure integrity through quality, accountability and customer service.
CNI serves 24 Northern Virginia counties and their cities. CNI administers the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program and provides approval of Family Child Care Homes in the Voluntary Registration Program.

Fauquier Free Clinic
Fauquier Free Clinic provides primary health care to uninsured individuals and families residing in Fauquier and Rappahannock counties, with a special effort to include all children. Volunteer doctors, dentists, nurses and administrators keep the clinic in operation. It provides health care to uninsured residents, mostly working poor families who earn a little too much to qualify for federal assistance. The need is tremendous: The clinic has seen more than 16,000 patients since its doors opened.
Free medical, dental and diabetes services staffed by volunteer health care providers. No appointment needed.

Headwaters' Starfish Mentoring Program
Offering one-to-one mentoring by screened, trained adult volunteers to county youths ages 6-18 years who commit to at least one year of weekly meetings with a trusting, caring adult. Adult volunteers from the community needed as mentors.

Hospice of the Rapidan
Mission: Provide compassionate and dignified end-of-life care for people with terminal illnesses.
Hospice of the Rapidan is a nonprofit, community-based medical provider offering a comprehensive program of medical care and social, spiritual and grief support for patients with life-ending illnesses and their families. Services are usually provided in patients' homes (including nursing homes) and the organization serves patients of any age, religion and race regardless of their ability to pay. Hospice of the Rapidan is certified by Medicare and Medicaid.

Piedmont United Way
Mission: To improve lives by mobilizing community resources and partnerships to create sustained health and human services improvements in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange, and Rappahannock counties.
United Way distributes funds to community agencies and organizations providing basic services for families, shelters for the homeless, food for the elderly, nursery schools, scouting programs and youth recreation, and it provides an information and referral help phone line, 540.825.7569.

Piedmont Volunteer Center (PVC)
Program of Piedmont United Way
PVC promotes community volunteering by connecting people with opportunities to serve and assist nonprofit agencies and organizations in building effective volunteer programs.
Information available in the Volunteer Center's Resource Library on all aspects of volunteerism, volunteer management and local volunteer activities. Presentations and training workshops also are available for organizations and groups wanting to learn more about volunteering.
